Miguel Reguero, managing partner of Rutas Meigas and member of the Order of the St. James Way, took part in the multi-video conference organized by the Order last week, which was attended by knights and women from seventeen countries. This virtual meeting discussed the future of tourism in general and religious tourism in particular. The conference was attended by, among others, the advisor Carmen Pardo, PhD in Tourism and Economy and Secretary General for Tourism of the Government of Galicia between 2009 and 2013, and the Knight Ricardo Sosa, the current Secretary General of the Institute for Promotion.
During the Conference of the Order of the St. James Way each of the participants presented their vision of the future of the sector and informed the participants about the current situation in their respective countries regarding the health crisis caused by Covid19 and possible strategies were analyzed in order to ensure the return to normal like that it takes place that the safety of the people is guaranteed.
Miguel Reguero was named Knight of the Order of the St. James Way in 2015 for his professional career in the tourism sector that he developed in different countries of the world and, in particular, for his work in projecting the different routes of the St. James Way outside our borders, promoting its universal values (effort, solidarity, hospitality, generosity), one of the main tasks of the order.
The Order of the St. James Way was born in the XII with an obligation to protect the pilgrims who walk the path and to preserve many of its traditional values and symbols. Throughout its history, it has adapted to the times and always with the particular task of promoting and protecting the value of the St. James Way, its cultural and ethnographic heritage and of promoting the various Jacobean routes in order to promote pilgrimage routes and the connection to each area promote.
